Stress and Distress

A little stress can be helpful, kicking us into action to get things done; but too much can affect us both mentally and physically, and even a little distress can sometimes cause us pain. If you are feeling stressed or distressed, whether by your job or by something more personal, the first step to feeling better is to identify the cause.

Unwelcome stress can be triggered by many situations including concerns about money, job security, redundancy, pressure of work, relationships, workplace bullying, divorce, retirement, new job or friends / relatives who are unwell. Whilst we cannot control certain stressful situations in life, counselling can help you recognise the stress signals and manage the way you react to them.
